The Map of Food

Inspiration

My family would have trouble cooking and remembering different recipes.

What it does

This web application assists beginner cooks by providing a recipe they need. They can find the recipe by searching on a map by clicking on the location it came from. Then they can simply put their dish name in the search bar and they can find it from there. This application is also great for educational purposes by learning the culture behind every recipe.

How we built it

I built it by putting my idea through chat GPT so it can enhance it. Then, I put the idea to Bolt.new so it can create the application for me.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge that ran into was when I put my idea through Chat GPT and the AI couldn't get my idea so I had to kept trying until I got my ideal description for my web application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of making this website since this is the first time I ever made an app. Entering this competition makes me better in many skills, such as writing, having an entrepreneurial mindset, and learning how to market your ideas.

What we learned

I learned that if I keep persisting, I can achieve my goals successfully.

What's next for The Map of Food

I've been thinking to add a feature so users can debate about which dish they think is better. Players who are spectating can vote for the person they think won the debate. Winners can win and collect badges and awards!
