In some cultures meditation is practiced while chanting/singing the words that guide the practice, often (in the Tibetan Buddhist context) accompanied by a beating drum, ringing bells and occasionally horns for emphasis. I took this concept of a guided meditation in song and turned the words of the loving light imaginative meditation practice into a song that can be sung while engaging in the meditation described by the song. Or it can be used simply as a guide while you sit quietly.

The biggest challenge was finding symbols for spiritual concepts without relying on common and overused symbolism. Though I didn't avoid this completely - the lotus flower is just too perfect - I reached into the Dzogchen tradition of Tibet to find symbols for the nature of mind such as diamonds, mirrors, lakes, skies and mandalas of light.
