Inspiration Inspired by classic text-based RPGs, we wanted to create an engaging adventure that combines exploration, strategy, and luck in a fantasy world full of challenges and mystical encounters.
What it does "Quest for the Lost Artifact" is a text-based RPG where players control Arin, an adventurer exploring a magical world. Players roll dice, visit shops, battle enemies, and solve challenges to obtain a powerful artifact.
How we built it We built the game in Java, leveraging object-oriented programming to manage the game state, player actions, and various locations. We implemented mechanics for dice rolls, inventory, and combat.
Challenges we ran into Balancing the gameplay to make it challenging yet fair was tough, as was implementing smooth game logic for dice rolls, shop systems, and combat mechanics without making the game overly complex.
Accomplishments that we're proud of We successfully created an immersive game world with engaging mechanics like item usage, a dynamic map, and a final boss battle, all within a text-based environment.
What we learned We learned how to balance gameplay difficulty, structure game logic efficiently, and manage the flow of a text-based narrative to keep players engaged.
What's next for The Lost Artifact Next, we plan to enhance the game by adding new locations, more diverse enemies, and improved player customization options to make the adventure even more dynamic and replayable.
