Inspiration

Our Inspiration was education, wanting everyone to be able to experience a more innovative way of learning. Also, to spread awareness to what HudsonAlpha does all around the world.

What it does

This AR app takes information from the android game GenomeCache and combines it with McMillian Park to bring the experience of learning information about the human genome to life. The app is initially built on the aspect of creating an AR tour of the McMillian Park Helix by geographically mapping out your coordinates on the Helix and displaying a 3D image and question prompt for educational interactive purposes.

How I built it

We built it using two API's and and Swift and Xcode to create a AR image game

Challenges I ran into

Our team ran into multiple challenges, but the most difficult one was creating a geographical trigger within the AR app that responds to when you are close to it and shows the AR image based on where you are. It uses longitude and latitude to calculate where you are.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

What I learned

Our team learned the value of teamwork and doing something courageous in a short amount of time no matter impossible it may have seemed at first. We also have learned how helpful the mentors are at the Tech Challenge.

What's next for The Lituation GenomeCache AR Challenge#2

Continue to develop our app and learn more about computer science and most importantly, compete in more hackathons!
