Inspiration
What inspired our gameplay mechanics was the movement in fast paced action games like Ultrakill. Thematics were inspired by many random things like microwaves, our friend Malcolm, and some of our team's previous game jam.
What it does
You are parkouring through levels that resemble the five stages of grief.
How we built it
We build our game in Unity using C#.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into many challenges like displaying videos for story telling, connecting our different levels together, and mitigating bugs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of fine tuning the movement system to be fast and satisfying. We are also proud of our samller mechanics like breakable branches, an orbiting enemy, and our first level that adjusts height based on the grid we create.
What we learned
We learned how to use Unity for 3D projects. All previous projects have consisted of Unity 2D, so we learned how to create and assign meshes, how to import object files from blender, how to influence 3D movement, and more.
What's next for The Lettuce Club
We have not yet discussed any future plans for The Lettuce Club. We shall see if it will be continued beyond this Hackathon.
