Inspiration

Inspired by the depiction of Comic Book Art Style animation by giving a vintage feel and bright and unrealistic colors (e.g., purple sky, neon green fire) to emphasize the drama. The character of Shiya (The Reluctant Hero) is given a futuristic touch of tribal outfit. The Purists appear as shadow soldiers who are stiff and uniform. Their helmets must have a shiny reflection like in the 80s comics, completely covering their faces to remove any sense of humanity.

How we built it

This animation was created with the initial step of creating a premise, then a story line that was used as a reference for creating a prompt. Then the image creation used comfyUI with chroma models, then the animation creation used image2video with wan 2.2 on comfyUI. Video editing used Adobe After Effects, sound addition used sunoAI and Adobe Audition, sfx and voice over used MMaudio and Openvoice2.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges faced were hardware constraints, especially on the GPU which only uses the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti 12g, because we made this video using AI on a local computer.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am quite satisfied with this animation, even though there are still many shortcomings in terms of inconsistent characters, and the audio and voice over are still very minimal
