Inspiration
The Last Hunt was born from our fascination with survival and redemption in the face of chaos. We wanted to build an experience that feels raw and intense, where every second matters and every choice could be your last.
What it does
The game drops players into a hellish floating arena surrounded by fire and darkness, where they must battle endless demons and hunt for three hidden keys to unlock the only escape door before time runs out.
How we built it
We developed The Last Hunt using Meta Horizon Editor, focusing on creating a visually rich and immersive world that feels alive. Our goal was to strike a balance between cinematic design and fast-paced action. We experimented with lighting, smoke effects, and stylized textures to give the environment a gritty but artistic look. Every visual element, from the flicker of flames to the echoing growl of demons, adds to the tension and mood of the game.
Challenges we ran into
One of the toughest challenges we faced was optimizing the environment and effects without compromising on detail. Working within the limitations of the platform taught us a lot about creativity under constraints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The biggest accomplishment for us is how cohesive and engaging the final experience turned out to be. It’s fast, challenging, and visually striking.
Our proudest accomplishment is how cohesive the experience feels — short, fast-paced, and emotionally charged.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned the importance of storytelling through design and the power of atmosphere in shaping player engagement.
What's next for The Last Hunt
Our next step is to expand The Last Hunt into a multiplayer survival experience with new arenas, enemies, and evolving challenges.
