Inspiration
We wanted to make a game. Inspiration was Johnny rocket mini game that he made. And dragon jumpers (game) I played at summer camp.
What it does
It is functioning 2D sidescrolling game in unity. You control the player and have them get through all obstacles and enemies to win.
How we built it
We made it in Unity over 24. We used github to commit changes. Art was found free online. Music was made by Johnny.
Challenges we ran into
GIT!!!!! Projectiles were hard to control and make smooth. Animations were hard to learn. Coin collection was also difficult. We came into this not really knowing unity so that itself was a learning curve. We did not use LLM to code or debug our project so that was a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The whole thing. It took a ton of effort, and we're so proud of the end product. I (Kali) am really proud of the enemy's animation and level design. Johnny made the music and dragon physics. And Mia was our git master, dragon animation, coins, implemented the music.
What we learned
Git sucks (we already knew that). A lot of unity stuff, if you don't know there's always a tutorial online. We all walked away from this with a basic understanding of unity.
What's next for The last dragon
We would like a level 2. I also see a lot of small things to tweak and make better. But the full functionality is there.
