What it does

  • A horror-escape game where the user must navigate three mazes with increasingly difficult puzzles to find their way to the exit

How we built it

  • We worked in Roblox Studio to do all of the coding and modeling.

Challenges we ran into

  • Learning the Lua programming language and Roblox Studio interface (some for the first time, others relearning it) while building our project

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • We're proud we were able to pull together a functioning game with various mechanics that can entertain and challenge our players
  • We're also proud of capturing the 'liminal' aesthetic of wandering through an unknown place without knowing whether you might be safe or not

What we learned

  • How to make working buttons
  • How to trigger events by touching certain blocks
  • How to 'teleport' a player to a specific position
  • How to make a hostile entity that follows the player around

What's next for The Labyrinth

  • Maybe there won't be a Labyrinth II, but we now have the skills to continue to explore new ideas and possibly create new games in the future
