Inspiration

I was inspired by the classic card game, Jungle Board Gamelink I wanted to create a game that would be just as fun, but with a twist. I wanted to make a real-time card game that would be fast paced and exciting.

What it does

The Jungle Game is a real-time card game that pits two players against each other in an epic battle. Each player has a deck of cards, and they must use those cards to attack and defend themselves. The goal of the game is to be the first player to either reduce their opponent's card to zero, or reach the opponent's honey grid.

How I built it

I built the game using JavaScript and the Velo by Wix platform. I used the Realtime API to create a real-time game that could be played by two people, on two devices. I also used the Data API to store player, battle and card information.

Challenges I ran into

One of the challenges I ran into was the game sync between the two devices. I wanted to make sure that both players were seeing the same information at the same time, so I had to find a way to sync the data between the two devices. Another challenge was the verification of cards move. I wanted to make sure that players could not make moves that would violate the rules of the game, so I had to find a way to verify each move before it was made.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud of the fact that I was able to create a real-time game that could be played by two people on two different devices. I'm also proud of the fact that I was able to sync the data between the two devices, so that both players would see the same information at the same time. Also, it is resume-able, so players can pick up where they left off even if they have to leave the game in the middle.

What I learned

I learned how to use the Velo by Wix platform to create a real-time game that could be played by two people on two different devices. I also learned how to sync the data between the two devices, so that both players would see the same information at the same time.

What's next for The Jungle Game

I plan on adding more board variations to the game, and more card types so that there are more possibilities for strategies. Finally, I want to add a leaderboard, so that players can see how they stack up against other players.
