Inspiration
We love to play games, and so we set out to make something that we would enjoy playing. Taking inspiration from the game Celeste, some of the artstyle of the game Crawl, and the horrific world that is Lovecraftian horror, we began to put together the pieces.
What it does
At the moment, The Jailor is a little bit behind where we wanted it to be. But it is still a great start. You play through a little demo of the beginning of the game, where you storm the secret cultist hideout. You can walk through the forest in the middle of the night, making your way to the hideout. Along the way, you stop some of the cultists, and finally find yourself at the entrance.
How we built it
We built this game entirely in unity; all of our sprites were made by members of our team.
Challenges we ran into
Programming issues; Severe internet issues; Time issues due to not knowing the tools as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of having all of our sprites made by our team.
What we learned
We learned that time management skills are key to game development.
What's next for The Jailor
Finishing up the game! We plan to flesh out the story, the mechanics, and the level design.
