The Ivy

Inspiration

Brides all over the world stress over the wedding planning from the day they get engaged. While wedding is supposed to be a magical moment, it is bogged down with numerous tasks and deadlines at hand. The Wedding planning market is fragmented with the planners as well as the vendors spread across the region. The planning process can be also highly expensive with over-spilling the budget by the end of the event. Lastly, the whole process requires project management with visibility from the planners/vendors end and intense deadline monitoring. Our product "The Ivy" aims to solve all the above pain points.

What it does

The app acts as a one-stop-shop for all the planning and payments. It takes your requirements and preferences, matches you to the suitable planners or the set of vendors - As you may choose, takes care of the payments and financing needs - down payment or in instalments, and creates a wedding dashboard that can be updated from both the planner's end as well as customers.

How we built it

We built this app prototype with Figma.

Challenges we ran into

Establishing the scope of the product is a challenge, and how many features to include in MVP. Since the market is fragmented, addressing the actual size of the market is a challenge as well.

We are proud of the clear positioning of our idea, our beautiful designs and the unique product that does not have any benchmarked competitors.

What we learned

We learned that the wedding process is a hugely untapped area and there are several services that can be counted in-scope or out-of-scope for this product

What's next for The Ivy

Next, we plan to build the app and the website following the prototype presented, raise some seed funding for teh same and launch this in the US/UK markets.
