Inspiration
I decided to take on MITRE Pick a Problem challenge and create a website on the issue of disinformation. I am also currently studying cybersecurity intelligence, so this topic really inspired me to drive deeper and create a website. I'm currently taking a website construction course that is teaching me how to code with HTML, so I took the initiative to challenge myself and test the new skill I've gathered from the course I am taking now.
What it does
My project is a website that provides brief information about the meaning and the effects of disinformation. My website includes several links which take you to different pages. Also, on some of the images, you are able to click them and it takes you to a website with more detailed information!
How we built it
I was able to build it using Visual Studio Code and I wrote it in HTML language.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges I ran into was how to include the link into the image. I had a bit of difficulty with the files, but I was able to figure it out by doing a quick google search. I also ran into the challenge of including the video link, how to create that white line behind the title text, and how to add a background image to the page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud of being able to create my first website! Even though it is a small one, the amount of work and hours I put in really makes me happy.
What we learned
I learned a lot about how to code using HTML. I got to learn how to add a video and how to change the background color of the website page.
What's next for Website Project: The Issue with Online Disinformation
I will definitely work on it more and add more information to it! I am excited to add more cool features to my website and make it more engaging.
