Inspiration

Superheros need help detecting where the people are in distress. We needed to incorporate as many components as possible as that was one of the design conditions.

What it does

When the arduino is first run, it displays an initial message on the LCD. When the button is pressed, the message changes and the piezo and LED light will start beeping and making sounds. The second time the button is pressed, the message on the LCD will change, and the LED and piezo will become dormant again. The third time the button is pressed, it will return to the original state of when the arduino is first turned on.

How I built it

Built it for a design challenge for Science Unlimited Summer Camp 2017 at the University of Toronto

Challenges I ran into

The tilt sensor would not stay in the breadboard properly. Therefore, I used a button instead.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This design project won first place out of 10 teams

What I learned

When you are building something under a time limit, done is better than perfect.

What's next for The Informer - A Superhero Gadget

Building this with a tilt switch instead of a button
