Inspiration

I heard an ambulance stuck behind me in heavy traffic , In spite the siren beeping , people ahead were unaware about a life in danger just behind them . This led to the idea about an application that will inform people in the way of an ambulance to be aware and give way .

What it does

Urban Siren is an application that informs people about an ambulance stuck behind them .The driver of the ambulance sets a route in the app ,and all the people in the way who have Urban Siren installed get a notification and a beep on their phones , informing them about a life in danger behind them .

How I built it

The initial idea was to somhow broadcast a message in a location , but this can lead to unnecessary notifications to people . The idea was further developed into chanelling the broadcast to the people who are also taking the same rote.

Challenges I ran into

The biggest challenge was chanelling the notifications and limiting the number of people getting notified.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We channelized the hooting and started transmitting push based on the path that an ambulance has taken. People that do not lie on the trajectory will not be disturbed.
