The heart is a strong muscular organ It is located in the center of the chest, slightly to the left Its main job is to pump blood throughout the body 2️⃣ Parts of the heart The heart has four chambers: Upper chambers (Atria) Right atrium – receives blood without oxygen Left atrium – receives oxygen-rich blood Lower chambers (Ventricles) Right ventricle – pumps blood to the lungs Left ventricle – pumps blood to the rest of the body 3️⃣ Blood circulation (step by step) 🔵 Step 1: Oxygen-poor blood comes from the body Enters the right atrium 🔵 Step 2: Blood moves to the right ventricle Then it is pumped to the lungs 🔴 Step 3: In the lungs: Blood receives oxygen Carbon dioxide is removed 🔴 Step 4: Oxygen-rich blood returns to the left atrium Moves into the left ventricle 🔴 Step 5: The left ventricle pumps blood to: The brain Arms and legs All parts of the body 👉 This cycle continues every second of life 4️⃣ How does the heart beat? The heart beats 60–100 times per minute Each beat pushes blood forward The rhythm is controlled by natural electrical signals 5️⃣ What happens if the heart stops? Blood circulation stops Oxygen does not reach the brain The person may lose consciousness or die without immediate help 6️⃣ How to keep the heart healthy ✔️ Eat healthy food ✔️ Exercise regularly ✔️ Avoid smoking ✔️ Drink enough water ✔️ Reduce stress
