Inspiration

We were inspired by a pencil. You can get one of these for about $0.10 even though it takes the coordinated effort of thousands of people to make one. Someone must cut down the rubber tree for the eraser. To cut down that tree, someone had to make the saw. To make the saw, someone had to forge the steel. To make steel, someone had to mine the iron ore, and on and on.

It’s a decentralized free market that drives down the cost of a pencil and that has led to the explosion in human progress over the last century. We can clearly see the power of decentralization by comparing the economic growth of South Korea and North Korea, which has remained flat over this period, just as medical progress has.

Our current health innovation ecosystem consists of 350k little North Koreas.

What it does

Creates a free market for health data, by allowing owners to store their digital twin in a safe.

How we built it

Gnosis Safe to create the template for Human FS. We used React, Material UI, and Redux to build user interfaces and various design components Additionally, we used React, IPFS, NFT.storage, and uploaded Digital Twin NFTs to Polygon main-net.

Challenges we ran into

Storing health data securely and privately while allowing on-chain sharing.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One time I found a buckeye.

What we learned

We learned to integrate various frameworks and API's together to essentially build a decentralized health database and create various functional components in the gnosis safe fork. Additionally, storing your digital twin as an NFT with a JSON file containing your digital twin health information and overall mood data.

What's next for The Human File System

The Human File System's end mission is to build Uniswap for Health Data, connecting medical institutions, pharma companies, and research organizations around the world to individuals with their digital twins stored on the chain. This will ultimately accelerate clinical research and allow people to contribute to causes such as aging research and drug discovery while being rewarded with the transition of health data going from web2 to web3.
