Inspiration

As soon as I heard the theme was "clones" I had a million ideas go into my head, but I eventually went with this 'zombie apocalypse' type game with a small story/dialogue behind it. I coded it in Scratch to challenge myself and see what I could do in a coding environment that was limited compared to the others.

What it does

Press 'Z' to start the game. The first minute is dialogue between the player and the dark wizard

How we built it

I coded the project in scratch, most of the code is mines, but I did follow a few tutorials for some of the code as well. Some of the art is mines as well but most of it I got from the internet or from itch.io. Music and SFX are from Pixabay, Fonts are from FontSpace.

Challenges we ran into

Coding is scratch is very limited; however, for this game I went simple so I incorporated basically everything I wanted to add. Only "challenge" was time and a lot of what I added towards the end was rough and unfinished.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of some of the pixel art I did (not all of it was mines) because this was my first time making any form of pixel art.

What we learned

I learned that Scratch is still very capable at coding games even though it may not look like it. I had a fun time making this game and I might continue to code in Scratch.

What's next for The Horde

Polishing the game overall, adding a bossfight with the dark wizard so he doesn't just disappear, adding more wands/items for the player, etc.

If you want to view the code of my project go to the scratch link above in the "try it out section" and click "See inside project" when you get to scratch. It wouldn't let me submit a scratch .sb3 file when I was uploading my submission.
