Inspiration
We have created a logic game inspired by the famous game "Life" created by a mathematician named John Horton Conway. The goal of the game is to show how complex behavior can emerge from few simple rules.
What it does
The rules of the world of viruses are: Viruses with less than one neighboring virus will die. Virus with 4 or more neighboring viruses will die from overpopulation Virus with 2 or 3 neighboring viruses will survive If there are exactly 3 neighboring viruses new virus will be created.
That's it. Now you can play the game.
A simply as it might seem, unbelievably complex behavior can emerge and our goal is to interactively show as many interesting behaviors of the game as possible.

We created tutorials and few levels with interesting dialogues, where the player is put in the position of the testing subject. Players have to "design" the initial state just right so viruses can spread. When you create the right configuration and viruses will spread across all targeting places you won.
Also if you want you can play whole game in VR.
During all this effort you can be occasionally humiliated by the testing coordinator in the dialogues. Sorry, he is quite rude.
How we built it
We have decided to use web technologies because we have more experience with them. Also, our target audience is someone interested in logic games and mathematics, therefor the web-based game might be more accessible for them.
So the technologies:
- React.js
- A-Frame
Accomplishments that we're proud of - Unique selling points
- storyteller - the player's guidance during tutorial and levels
- simple & beautiful UI
- two game modes with same functionality, differs in UI & UX
- VR
- 2D
2D mode
- great storytelling
- tutorial
- best for Desktop
- simple usage/playing
VR mode
- more intuitive and immersive
- better effects
- less text
- better focus on the user's senses
What we learned
- game design
- make the games in popular FE frameworks
- basics in unity development
- game development for VR devices
