Inspiration

I procrastinated even looking for hackathons until 13 hours before the deadline. Then I found this one, realized I could build something that judges people for doing exactly that, and it just felt right.

What it does

The Guilt Engine is a minimalist goal tracker that verbally abuses you when you don’t deliver. You set a goal. It asks what you did. If you underperform, it responds with the motivational equivalent of a steel chair to the ego.

How we built it

I asked Bolt.new to bully me until I completed my goals. It worked. So I turned it into a product.

Challenges we ran into

Started at 5am. No coffee. Some tears.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I shipped a complete app that insults people for a living. That’s... something.

What we learned

That shame is a powerful motivator. Also, Bolt is surprisingly fun under pressure.

What's next for The Guilt Engine

Might add AI voice roasts, maybe meme integration... or maybe I’ll just go back to bed. Either way, the shame will live on.
