We were inspired by the historic and spiritual moment when Shanbian Mazu's temple broke ground. It’s not just the start of a building — it’s a symbol of faith taking root in the land, guided by the goddess herself.
What it does
The film reimagines the groundbreaking ceremony as a divine ritual, blending sacred symbolism, real-world traditions, and cinematic storytelling into a powerful short.
How we built it
We used Midjourney to design key scenes of the ceremony and symbolic visuals, Runway to animate flow and blessing sequences, and added light-infused transitions to echo the presence of Mazu's grace.
Challenges we ran into
Capturing the reverence and energy of a live spiritual event using AI tools, while balancing sacred traditions with stylized visual effects.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We honored a real religious moment with respect and artistic beauty — blending myth and memory into a moving record of a milestone.
What we learned
When working with faith-based stories, sensitivity, symbolism, and storytelling must work hand in hand — and AI can help reveal new ways to celebrate the sacred.
