Inspiration
As a dancer, I always had a dancing partner who would dance with me all day long. It rotates the robot into a circular motion loop, which gives a continuous animation effect, and the illusion of it dancing and a robot would be the ideal partner for it.
What it does
It rotates the robot into a circular motion loop, which gives a continuous animation effect, and the illusion of it dancing and a robot would be the ideal partner for it.
How we built it
I built it using Unity and Visual Studio Code. I also followed some Unity award-winning tutorials and Beste F. Yuksel's guide to scripting. First I made a robot body using game spaces and 3D shapes. Then I created the robot body and its movements using scripting and coding on VS Code.
Challenges we ran into'
Since Unity is a C#-based programming language, I had some problems coding the body and its movement as I am not familiar with the C# language. I had to take some help from Chat GPT for the coding bit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am really proud of coming this far in Unity in a day, as it was a huge task for me. I felt really accomplished seeing my robot smoothly rotate again and again. The perfect measurements of the robot body were also one of my favorite accomplishments.
What we learned
I briefly learned the concept of C# and understood the structure and usage of Unity in depth.
What's next for The Groovy Robo
I want to give it more dance moves, probably more gymnastic-based ones like a spin or headstand.
