The Grin is an experimental music project where I merge sound and visuals into a theatrical experience. This AI-generated music video was created as an extension of the project, combining haunting circus-inspired imagery and black metal soundscapes to explore identity, performance, and laughter as both mask and curse.
I used Stable Diffusion /ComfyUI and Kling AI to generate and animate the visuals, Suno AI to compose the music and vocals, and After Effects for final compositing and synchronization. The workflow relied on multiple iterations of prompts, careful editing, and timing adjustments to merge image and sound into a coherent narrative.
The biggest challenge was achieving consistency across AI-generated outputs, since each tool produced very different moods and styles. Another challenge was synchronizing visuals with the audio in a way that felt intentional and expressive rather than random.
The outcome is both a reflection of AI’s unpredictability and a testament to its power as a creative collaborator.
