Problem Statement ~Waste is a real problem and sea walls can't be the answer, so if we can optimise dating, we can optimise recycling: put the bin where people already are, because if you build it they will come, and if they won't come to the bin, we bring the bin to them.~
Who does it affect? Every household in Singapore. In 2025, 78% of households said they recycle, yet the domestic recycling rate stayed at just 11% Singapore disposed of 1.67 million tonnes of domestic waste that year
Why now? Never before has so much trash been created by so many for so few to end up recycled. (Churchill, with apologies to the RAF.) NEA’s Zero Waste Masterplan target is being reset right now, and planners will need to know where to put things.
