Inspiration

We wanted to make a device that you could control with your voice, that would in the meantime benefit the environment.

What it does

The lamp uses speech recognition to parse commands to turn it on or off, additionally it uses sensors and algorithms to determine statistics related to power consumption.

How we built it

We used an arduino uno with an special relay to control the lamp and a digital bridge to collect sensor data.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered problems related to the multithreaded nature of our project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we reduced the processing time of commands greatly over the course of the project.

What we learned

I learned a little bit about circuitry and arduino as well as sending and parsing serial data through the com port.

What's next for The Great Lampini

We hope to go global with The Great Lampini
