Inspiration

Thien threw a grape in Brandon's mouth, and we thought it would fun to be build an automated one.

What it does

Automatically locates a face in the room and calculates the trajectory to throw the grape into that person's mouth.

How we built it

We constructed this device using 3d printed parts and laser cut pieces along with aluminum extrusion. The software is built off of the open source library opencv.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues of compiling the opencv package on raspberry pies. We also ran into problems with the part supply getting through the job queue as there were lots of error with the server.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully implemented stereo vision with two camera processed on separate boards that are then networked together to locate the face.

What we learned

Opencv does not like Arm architecture.

What's next for The Grapanator

Finishing up the driving system to have full control over the turret.
