Inspiration

The Theme: Losing Control.

The Idea: We wanted a comedic medical horror game where the player's own mind and perception are the main obstacles.

What it does

The Concept: You are a patient undergoing a highly questionable "adjustment" procedure. The Goal: Keep your Mental Wellbeing bar from hitting zero while surviving post-op exams.

The Minigames: Walk the Line: Press 'W' to walk straight, but stop when violent camera shakes and memes block your vision. Target Practice: Click the right target while the game spawns fake ones to trick you.

How we built it

Art: We drew the characters on paper, then used ChatGPT to colorize and polish them into digital assets. Gemini generated the goofy meme hallucinations.

Audio: We completed the "Home-Cooked A Cappella" challenge by recording all our own voice lines and sound effects instead of using stock sounds.

Challenges we ran into

The Chaos Buddy: We completed the "Chaos Buddy" challenge by programming the Nurse to actively mess with the player's cursor and trigger stress shakes. The Balance: It was difficult to program intentional UI bugs and cursor hijacking without making the game completely unplayable.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Completing two bonus jam challenges under a tight 72-hour deadline. Successfully integrating the "Losing Control" theme and jump scares directly into the game's UI and controls, rather than just the story. Finally, we won Public Choice Award among 39 teams from all universities in Malaysia!

What we learned

How to use erratic UI manipulation to create a feeling of panic and humor. How to build a fast pipeline for turning physical paper sketches into clean game assets using AI colorization.

What's next for The Goofy Experience

Expanding the clinic with more bizarre minigames. Adding new medical staff members with unique ways to sabotage the player.
