“The Golem Reimagined” retells the ancient Prague legend through a modern lens of science, myth, and artificial creation. For centuries, the Golem of Prague has symbolized protection, faith, and the unintended consequences of power. In this adaptation, I reimagine the Maharal as an early scientist-engineer, a visionary who creates a mechanical being to defend his people. But, like all imperfect creations, the android Golem reflects not only his brilliance but his limitations. When it spirals beyond his control, the film confronts the eternal question: What happens when what we build stops serving us — and starts endangering us? Through atmospheric visuals and a blend of mysticism and speculative technology, this film brings an ancient legend into today’s conversations about AI, autonomy, and the responsibility of creators. In this short film, the Maharal of Prague is re-envisioned not only as a spiritual leader, but as a brilliant early scientist and engineer. Instead of shaping a creature from clay, he constructs an intricate humanoid machine — an early android built to protect the vulnerable Jewish community. But when its programming slips beyond the Rabbi’s control, the creature spirals into chaos, forcing its creator to confront the collapse of his own creation. Presented through stylized, cinematic AI animation, the film blends mysticism with speculative science, exploring timeless questions about responsibility, creation, and the fragile boundary between protection and destruction. Tools used include Midjourney — for concept designs, character development, stylized Prague environments Google VEO — for cinematic AI animation, motion, and lip-sync Suno / ElevenLabs — for music and English voice narration Wondershare Filmora — for editing and final grading
