The Golden Ratio

Inspiration

As a nature lover and Mathematics educator, I have always wanted to show the relevance of the subject to my students. One of the easiest way is through the Golden Ratio which can be derived from Fibonacci numbers as they tend towards infinity.

What it does

This instagram effect overlays a looping Fibonacci gif in the World Space and therefore allow the users to see how the Golden Ratio exists in their surroundings.

How I built it

I used Spark AR Studio and I converted gifs to sprites and cut them before putting them together at Animation Sequences for the software. Making the material semi-transparent helps its use-case.

Challenges I ran into

I had a bit of difficulty getting the multiple frames cut evenly and compressed enough for upload purposes.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I take pride in creating educational AR effects for IG/FB so that my students can learn better using the social media platforms that they are already used to.

What I learned

I learnt that AR has a lot of educational potential.

What's next for The Golden Ratio

I hope to create other educational Insta/FB effects.
