👻 The Ghost Committee
Inspiration
The domain was ghost.reviews.
My first thought was simple:
What if reviews could literally come from ghosts?
Most founders eventually ask AI the same question:
"What do you think about my startup idea?"
The answer is usually a wall of generic text from a single perspective. It doesn't feel exciting, memorable, or even human.
I realized people don't love Shark Tank because they need investment advice.
They love watching strong personalities debate great ideas.
So I imagined a supernatural world where the ghosts of investors, founders, and internet critics never truly disappear.
Instead, they gather in a haunted boardroom and judge the next generation of startups.
That idea became The Ghost Committee, an experience built entirely around the domain ghost.reviews.
Bringing ghost.reviews to Life
Ghost.reviews is a supernatural startup review platform.
When a founder submits an idea, they are not talking to a chatbot.
They are summoning a committee of ghost investors.
Before anyone speaks, Ghost Radar scans for the biggest risks haunting the business.
The ghosts then debate the startup, challenge one another's opinions, and ultimately decide whether the idea deserves to survive.
If the founder disagrees, they can Hold a Seance and make one final defense to convince the ghosts to change their minds.
Finally, the ghosts reveal Ghost Stories, showing ideas and companies they have "seen before," before leaving behind one last Message From Beyond with actionable advice.
Every major feature exists because I kept asking myself one question:
"If reviews really came from ghosts, what would that experience feel like?"
The result is not just another AI startup evaluator.
It is an interactive supernatural experience where founders pitch their ideas to the ghosts of the market.
How I Built It
I built The Ghost Committee using:
- Next.js
- React
- TypeScript
- Tailwind CSS
- OpenRouter API
- Netlify
The application orchestrates multiple AI personalities, allowing each judge to generate independent opinions before participating in a committee discussion.
To make the experience feel cinematic rather than conversational, I built:
- Animated typewriter dialogue
- Dynamic sound effects
- Video backgrounds
- Ghost Radar animations
- Interactive founder rebuttals
- Custom survival scoring
- Multi-agent committee discussions
Challenges I Ran Into
The biggest challenge wasn't generating AI responses.
It was making them feel alive.
I spent a significant amount of time designing distinct judge personalities, synchronizing audio with typing animations, creating committee discussions that felt natural, and building an interface that felt closer to a live supernatural show than a chatbot.
Balancing atmosphere with usability became one of the hardest technical and design challenges.
Accomplishments That I'm Proud Of
I'm proud that The Ghost Committee doesn't feel like another AI wrapper.
It feels like an experience.
The combination of multiple AI judges, Ghost Radar, founder rebuttals, Ghost Stories, and the final Message From Beyond creates something that people actually want to share.
I'm especially proud of taking a randomly assigned domain and building an entire product universe around it.
What I Learned
I learned that presentation matters just as much as intelligence.
The same underlying AI technology becomes dramatically more engaging when wrapped inside storytelling, personality, animation, sound design, and interaction design.
I also learned how much polish and attention to detail can elevate a project in a very short amount of time.
What's Next for The Ghost Committee
I want to expand beyond startup ideas.
Future versions could allow users to pitch:
- Products
- Marketing campaigns
- Business strategies
- Entire companies
Long term, I envision The Ghost Committee becoming the most entertaining way to pressure-test any idea before bringing it into the real world.
Every startup has ghosts. The question is whether you can convince them.
