Inspiration

AI is collapsing the cost of building companies, triggering a surge of solo founders and first-time entrepreneurs. Yet a critical gap remains between having an idea and being venture-ready. Most individuals think in isolation, without team alignment, financial clarity, or validation. The Foundry is Step 0- an AI-powered bridge that transforms ruminating ideas into structured, incubation-ready ventures through data-driven insight instead of guesswork.

What it does

The Foundry is an AI-powered operating system for company creation. Users follow a clear flow: sign up / log in → enter startup, founder/team, and financial details → receive AI insights → iterate toward an incubation-ready plan. It validates ideas, analyzes founder alignment, and models expected financial outcomes- turning intent into actionable ventures.

How we built it

The frontend uses React and TypeScript for type-safe state management; the backend uses Python, SQLite, and async job workers for long-running AI reasoning tasks. Gemini 3 Pro Preview powers all 4 insights pages—founder alignment, idea validation, financial readiness, and dashboard insights. We run jobs in async threads and ensure persistency by storing job parameters in DB.

Challenges we ran into

Reasoning AI takes time; designing graceful loading states, job tracking, and trust was critical. Balancing ambition with a one-month timeline, learning React deeply, validating AI-generated code, and debugging complex async flows while working full-time demanded discipline and resilience.

What we learned

I mastered modern AI reasoning, startup incubation metrics like TAM, runway, burn rate, and founder alignment, and learned to encode investor-style thinking into software.

Add investor networks, customer discovery, founder matching, and guided outreach—building a complete Day-Zero platform for founders.
