Inspiration

We were inspired by the lack of physical movement in modern gaming. Most games today are played While modern graphics are incredibly vivid and immersive, we wanted to truly be a part of the game. What if we could ignore visuals altogether? Make a game that everyone can play. Wheter they had access to a monitor or not. Wheter they were visually impaired or not

This idea led us to create a game where the player steps into the role of a blind swordsman, navigating the world using audio cues and physical feedback, encouraging players to move, react, and rely on other senses.

What it does

Utilizes IMU and a Common set of headphones to integtegrate spatial audio techonology with motion analysis. The player can feel where demons are through spatial audio and attack through the sword/shield IMU interface. It utilizes a combitnation of advanced algorithims and acessible components to provide an affordable inclusive gaming experience.

How we built it

We used esp32s to handle blueooth and basic logic. We used IMUs to detect motion. And heaphones for spatial audio. We solder componets based on researched schematics and designed and laser cut files for the sword and shield to create a smooth final product.

Challenges we ran into

IMU techinique detection was much harder than expected. Detecting when a movement ends can be really tricky when you take into acount countinous slashes and short jumps. Ajusting variables to create clean data was very tricky. Getting the spatial audio to work also took a significant smount of time. Creating a solution to change audio based on the demons position and the players position was far more complex than we imagined.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how clean the final product ended up and how it functioned. Were especially proud of the realistic and thrillling feelign you get from playing the game.
