Inspiration

Food insecurity due to the lack of vehicle access.

What it does

A website meant to inform site visitors of the problem with information as well as graphs to help identify areas that have less access to food. We had hoped to help connect volunteers with those areas to help deliver food through carpooling.

How we built it

The graphs were created using RStudio through data manipulation by subsetting the census tracts to only be located in Charlottesville and through data visualization with ggplot2. In order to effectively display the groups, a bar graph was chosen. The x-axis represents the groupings (census tracts) and the y-axis represents the housing units with low vehicle axis (within a mile). The website was built through Django
