Using a variable resistor based on how much it is flexed, we built the concept of a wearable that people can use to control their phone and different devices by flexing the sensor using their finger. The idea is to implement this type of technology in gloves for example, where people can use the glove to answer phone calls, turn on features on the phone or text someone. Our build right now is a basic model, where using an android app, we can react to flex from the sensor and toggle different features on the phone. If we were to take this project further, we would integrate more gestures using multiple flex sensors in each finger, as well as integrate other inputs like microphone and buttons, and even outputs like speaker. The idea behind our concept is to control everyday interactions with our phones using only our hands, without having to take our phones out.
