  The Flatulence: A Comedic Horror Short Film

What it does:

👻Project Title: The Flatulence ​Our primary goal was to create a horror short that defies convention. We drew heavy inspiration from two cinematic pillars:

Inspiration:

​Thriller: For the core concept of synchronized dread, dramatic short-film choreography, and the seamless blend of music video spectacle with a genuine horror narrative.

​The Rocky Horror Picture Show: For the camp, theatricality, and glamorous excess. We aimed for horror that is provocative, witty, and highly stylized rather than purely grotesque. ​Accomplishments

Challenges we ran into:

Overall there were several audio issues that were eventually fixed and not present in the final cut.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Include "layering" which replaces traditional editing and allows for a quicker turnaround.

What we learned:

It's impossible to upload a 10 GB file to Google Drive despite having a subscription and plenty of storage space.

What's next for The Flatulence:

​"The Flatulence" is a proof-of-concept short film that features a comedy and horror.

Subvert Tropes: It takes the conventional "bored date night" setup and uses it for comedic effect and irony as there is no actual dating.

​Create a Unique Villain: It introduces the nefarious spectral entity, the Pneumas Fartus, as a source of both supernatural terror and satirical humor.

​Showcase Transformation: It focuses on the character of CryptoBro and his possession.

​E_{\text{chaos}} is the total chaotic energy exerted. ​D_{\text{smell}} is the spectral decay factor (related to the Pneumas Fartus's unique aroma). ​P_{\text{fear}} is the reciprocal of the subject's fear level (a low fear level results in maximum performance pressure). ​\psi_{\text{ghoul}}(n) represents the quantum entanglement of the possessed man and the spectral entity. ​ ​
