The Fit Fever

Our Compound on an ear saver

Inspiration

This idea was created because of COVID-19. The whole world shut down because of it. Retail stores, schools, gyms, restaurants, and many other places. Most people who have COVID-19 also have a fever. If we could create something to detect the fever we could see who is seriously sick.

What it does

The product was made to identify people who may be running a fever. It is placed on object that would be close to the person's body near their hottest spots, in our case the head.

How we built it

We made a chemical compound that was able to change color with the human temperature.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was finding the right mixture to have an accurate test temperature. Even now we are having difficulty with narrowing down the proper temperature because human's internal temperature is different.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The proudest accomplishment of the whole project is when we made it in theory and testing it and it changed color showing that it could possibly work as a real world application.

What we learned

We have learned many things during this experience. We have learned some different thermal characteristics of some chemicals as well as the the temperature of the human body.

What's next for The Fit Fever

The next thing for The Fit Fever is working with a manufacturing company that deals in protective wares and help them apply this compound to their products.
