Inspiration
In the current climate, first time homebuyers are growing more and more weary of purchasing a house. Many factors play into this however, we wanted to create a tool to give them ease of mind.
What it does
Our webpage shows graphs of the data set showing how many people are likely to be approved for loans. In addition, we have a What-If Calculator in which a client could see if they could be approved for a loan. We also provided some resources for improving their homebuying potential.
How we built it
We used Next.Js and shadcn components to create a what if calculator to determine if a client would be approved for a mortgage. In addition, we used chart.js and SQL to create the graphs.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing firebase with our project. There were too many reads causing use to reach our read limit using one query
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Recreating the entire project in Next.JS and finally getting shadcn to work.
What we learned
Be sure to be specific with queries to limit reads.
What's next for Fannie Pack
Better styling for the site, dynamic graphs, and more specific calculations and variables for the calculator.
