Inspiration

We liked the idea of challenging ourselves by working with data related to something artistic and subjective

What it does

Examines and displays traits in films that lead to profitability Examines the proportion of male and female movie stars over time.

How we built it

Create a DecisionTreeClassifier and plots a visual depicting the most important traits Used seaborn and matplotlib libraries

Challenges we ran into

Deciding how to merge our datasets and which relevant columns and rows we wanted to keep

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Working with a relatively large and complex data set with quantitative and qualitative data points

What we learned

Rating and budget play a major role in determining whether a film is profitable Gender representation in film has not greatly increased over time according to the movies in our dataset.

What's next for The Evolution, Success, and Cultural Impact of Movies

Conduct a similar analysis with a larger dataset to produce more detailed results and to check the accuracy of our findings
