Inspiration

Welcome to Equity Hub. Equity Hub is an in-progress web app that empowers communities to come together and create a positive impact on society. Our inspiration for building Equity Hub stemmed from our personal experiences as former high-school students, where we struggled to find service hours and wanted to make a difference in our society.

What it does

With Equity Hub's key features like the centralized event platform, seamless volunteer sign-up and tracking, and community forums, we aimed to streamline organization for events and make it effortless for volunteers to find meaningful opportunities. During the development process, we focused on learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build an intuitive user interface that caters to both event organizers and volunteers.

How we built it

Equity Hub was built with a strong foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. These front-end technologies allowed us to create the user interface and implement features that users can easily navigate. As beginners, we encountered challenges in designing a user-friendly interface and ensuring a cohesive user experience.

We are proud of successfully developing a visually appealing and user-friendly web app using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The interactive event platform and volunteer sign-up system are major achievements for us as beginners in web development.

What we learned

Through building Equity Hub, we gained practical experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We learned how to structure a website, style it effectively, and implement interactive features. Moreover, we enhanced our problem-solving skills as we addressed various challenges during the development process.

What's next for Equity Hub

Moving forward, our next step is to delve into the world of back-end development. We aim to implement a back-end system using technologies like Python, Django, and a database to manage user data and event information securely. By adding back-end functionalities, we can transform Equity Hub from a visually appealing prototype into a fully functional web app that empowers communities and fosters social impact.
