I learned a lot while making this game entirely with C++ in Unreal Engine, I also modeled the turret, the player robot, and the projectile on my own in Blender and Textured them in Substance Painter. The toughest challenge was to implement the input perfectly and have my robot mesh rotate perfectly while having the projectiles and line trace for the weapon spawn at the perfect location. Implementing the turret AI was extremely had and having the player be able to cause damage to it took me some time, however, I still have some bugs in my game as the Player is still invincible despite having a current health of 100. The goal of the game is to pick the memories quickly before a 10 minute timer ends I was mostly inspired by Making a Change and this game is about that. The player robot or THE Engineer is responsible for connecting fond memories that someone sort of forgot they had to give them meaning again. As a solo developer most of the time I feel extremely overwhelmed and mentally tired. This game is a reminder to me that there are things worth fighting for despite how hard things get. Overall I enjoyed making this project and am extremely proud of how far I got as a solo developer currently working on building my studio.
