Inspiration

The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef which stretches for over 133,000 square miles and is home to a diverse and unique array of species. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World.

What it does

The Great Barrier Reef helps provide an essential habitat for organisms, purify the water surrounding the reef, protect the fragile coastline of Australia from natural disasters and erosion, and provide a source of food and new medicines. It is environmentally sustainable by removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and replenishing the oxygen that is necessary for future generations.

How we built it

I built the project using Vimeo and WeVideo, a video editing platform.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges I ran into were figuring out how to use the special effects on WeVideo, placing the text in the video so that it could not blend into the background as much as possible, and finding websites that were similar to the information that I needed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of researching this topic without any challenges or difficulties and creating an engaging and insightful video.

What we learned

I learned about multiple captivating facts about the Great Barrier Reef and finding out about some of the threatened species in the Great Barrier Reef.

What's next for The Endangered Great Barrier Reef

The world should help protect the Great Barrier Reef by being responsible citizens, recycling, conserving water whenever possible, minimizing the use of fertilizers, and to donate, fundraise, and volunteer in the Great Barrier Reef Foundation (www.barrierreef.org). Together, we can help conserve this natural wonder.
