Inspiration
I wanted to reimagine Halloween in a way that felt magical, not spooky, something that could make both kids and adults smile and dream. The idea came from the small French village where I live, and how, at night, the lights and rooftops already look like something out of a fairytale. I thought: what if this little village came alive under a smiling moon on Halloween night? That became The Enchanted Village, a musical short about imagination, warmth, and the beauty of simple magic.
What it does
The Enchanted Village is a 2-minute AI-crafted Halloween musical short that feels hand-painted and alive. It tells the story of a cozy, storybook village that awakens under the full moon, pumpkins smile, cats dance, and friendly ghosts float through the streets, until we discover that everything unfolds inside a child’s magical snow globe. It’s a celebration of imagination and nostalgia, showing how technology can be poetic when guided by emotion.
How we built it
The film was written, directed, and art-directed entirely by me through AI tools. Seedream 4 and Nano Banana were used for worldbuilding and environment creation. @pixverse_official and @klingai_official handled shots animation. The original music was composed in Suno, synced to visuals to create rhythm and breath. Color, sound, and title design were refined in Bottomline AI’s post-production pipeline to ensure a cinematic finish. Every shot was iterated multiple times to achieve consistency in tone, lighting, and emotion.
Challenges we ran into
To make it dreamy and enchanted instead of horror or spooky. Animating group movement and emotional expression without losing quality required. A lot of inpainting and retouching. Another challenge was finding balance: keeping the AI “magic” while avoiding the synthetic look that breaks immersion.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an AI musical short that feels dreamy and magical. The transitions, color palette, and emotional tone feel handcrafted. It’s also one of the first AI musical shorts to merge cinematic storytelling, orchestration, and visual consistency at this level of polish. The response from audiences describing it as “handmade by dreams, makes it one of our proudest projects to date.
What we learned
That AI filmmaking is not about speed, not about tools, it’s about direction and imagination. Each tool can do something extraordinary, but the real artistry comes from combining them thoughtfully. We also learned that audiences connect emotionally when AI films carry a story, not just effects.
What's next for The Enchanted Village
We plan to create a behind-the-scenes breakdown to inspire and educate the next generation of AI filmmakers.
