Inspiration
I wanted to satirize how Americans are told they have endless choices, while politics often boils down to the same two options. A kids’ board-game ad felt like the perfect metaphor.
What it does
“Duopoly” mimics classic toy-commercial energy to expose the false-choice dynamic in politics. It disguises sharp commentary inside something bright, playful, and instantly familiar.
How we built it
AI-generated scenes were styled like 90s-era board-game commercials: exaggerated lighting, fast zooms, over-excited narration, bright props, and quick, rhythmic cuts to sell the gag.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the toy-commercial aesthetic correct without becoming visually chaotic. Keeping the message clear in under 15 seconds. Maintaining consistent props across AI shots.
Accomplishments we’re proud of
We nailed the tone perfectly: loud, fun, and absurd. The metaphor lands immediately. The final button line delivers the joke clean and fast.
What we learned
Short political satire works best when disguised inside genre parody. The more seriously the world plays the ad, the sharper the punchline hits.
What’s next
Expanding “Duopoly” into a full fake toy-commercial series about modern society: false choices, manufactured consent, and systems built on illusion.# Inspiration
