Inspiration
We realized that water, a basic human need that we all take for granted is limited or often unsafe for billions of people around the world.
What it does
Our website raises awareness about clean water access around the world and gives people a space to donate directly to the cause, funding critical infrastructure and sanitation facilities.
How we built it
We used html, css, react, and python on VS Code to build the website
Challenges we ran into
When enhancing map features, the latitutude and longitude features were messed up. When adding new web pages, the html and css for previous pages got deleted or altered Integrating the map and figuring out how to sum up donations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of making a map that gives users an interactive way to learn about water insecurity.
What we learned
We learned about how people struggle to access safe water and the various ways we can help them. We also learned how to integrate different languages to make a website.
What's next for The Dried Up Dilemma
We want to be able to provide for struggling communities in ways other than donations. We can do this by getting connections with associations that help struggling communities access water so we can actually have an impact.
