Inspiration

The Done Beetle was inspired by the closed challenge proposed in 2025's UTRA hacks. It's design is standard and uses the given components supplied for the hackathon.

What it does

The Done Beetle is a small car driven by two wheels on motors. It can recognize color, distance from the front of the car, and grab objects.

How we built it

The Done Beetle was built with a flat wooden frame, a servo, dc motors, wheels and various sensors, assembled with screws and a few 3D-printed parts.

Challenges we ran into

Troubleshooting with faulty hardware was particularly frustrating as well as 3D-printed parts that just barely didn't fit, or fit way too tightly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the fast turn-around and how quickly we learned despite most of our team coming in as beginners.

What we learned

Learned about sensors and improved coding/Arduino skills.

What's next for The Done Beetle

The Done Beetle Team will hopefully be moving on to greater heights and more hackathons.
