The detection of credit card fraud using machine learning

Inspiration

My current focus is machine learning and I want to get as much exposure to data sets as possible and find out to better train models more accurately and quickly.

What it does

This simply tries to predict credit card fraud

How we built it

Using my own experience and a few libraries mainly being pandas, numpy and sklearn to train a model. Since a sponsor is Gemini, I decided to make a front end by generating code from Gemini since I do not have experience in front end yet

Challenges we ran into

I do not have experience with front end, so what I can make with Gemini is limited and therefore may not show the best demo of what I have done

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud that by trying multiple machine learning algorithms I was able to choose one to use that trains in a reasonable time. That choice is a random forest model.

What we learned

Since this is my first hack competition, I have got to experience trying to make something while only being told the prompt right before and having to make something within only a few hours since

What's next for The detection of credit card fraud using machine learning

I plan to take forward my use of machine learning to continue to gain more exposure to different datasets to try to better gain real experience beyond just my theoretical knowledge that I choose to study
