Inspiration

We were inspired to this project since we knew how stressed people are, especially right now during COVID. We wanted to help others with the simple techniques that our website provides.

What it does

Our website has several tabs that bring down your levels of anxiety. For example, we have a mindfulness page that brings the viewer to a sleep tracker page and breathing page to help calm themselves. We also centralize various sources in one area for efficiency.

How we built it

We built it entirely with HTML and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

This was our first time creating an actual website through coding so the biggest hurdle was applying the different languages to create something substantial. Another challenge was figuring out how to add the different images in the split view so that the text is on the left and the picture is on the right. Creating multiple tabs for the viewer to jump back and forth to was also a challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating such an extensive website for one of our first hackathons. We are also proud to be creating something that is so relevant and applicable to teenagers and adults everywhere.

What we learned

We learned how to create multiple tabs on websites and how to add images in different formats. We also learned how to make a button so that when you click it the link opens up in a new tab.

What's next for The Dear Duo - Ataraxy

We want to learn how to save data for the rant box (via cookies). We also want to create code that will use your location to find walking trails and natural locations around you. Further, Ataraxy can become an app rather than a website, as it might be more ideal for our specific project.
