Project Story
About the Project
Locked Inside is a 2D interactive horror game born from my love for suspenseful storytelling and immersive gameplay. The goal was simple: trap players in a mansion filled with puzzles, monsters, and choices that matter. What started as a small idea quickly grew into a full-fledged project, consuming months of learning, trial, and error.
Inspiration
I’ve always been inspired by classic horror games and the way they make you feel. I wanted to capture that same tension and thrill, but also to tell my own story through the environment. The haunted mansion became more than a game world; it became a canvas for my creativity and determination.
Challenges & Growth
Building Locked Inside was far from easy. I faced countless problems: monsters that wouldn’t move, doors that wouldn’t unlock, and code that broke at the worst times. I remember nights debugging alone, wondering if I’d ever finish.
Yet, each problem taught me something new:
- Debugging taught me patience and resilience.
- Designing puzzles taught me careful planning and iterative thinking.
Problems didn’t make me sad—they made the journey real. I learned to embrace failure as part of growth. Every crash, every broken line of code, became a step forward, not backward.
Hard Work & Dedication
This project is a reflection of determination. I spent countless hours coding, designing, testing, and redesigning. Sometimes I was exhausted, frustrated, or unsure if I could finish. But giving up was never an option. Every small victory—an enemy finally moving correctly, a puzzle unlocking smoothly—felt like a triumph.
Lessons Learned
- Persistence over perfection: Success isn’t immediate; it’s built through continuous effort.
- Problem-solving under pressure: Complex systems forced me to think creatively.
- Personal growth: Beyond coding, I learned resilience, patience, and the value of seeing a long project through to the end.
Reflections
Locked Inside may not be flawless, but it is a testament to what passion, effort, and determination can achieve. It’s a story of challenges, late nights, and countless mistakes—but also of growth, creativity, and triumph over obstacles.
I hope anyone who experiences this game sees not just a haunted mansion, but the heart, hard work, and persistence behind it. For me, finishing this game was already a victory.
