Inspiration
We got our inspiration from the title of the hackathon, WhoDoneItHacks?.
What it does
Using the arrow keys, you move the character and py holding space you interact with various objects in the room to get clues on who did it. In the end, you type the name of the person you think is guilty.
How we built it
We used python for the development and Pixel Studio for the graphics.
Challenges we ran into
This was our very first time working with Python and 8bit graphics. It was difficult to create everything that we had in mind in the given time. That's why we had to let go of some of our original ideas, or change (almost completely), the way some things worked, as we didn't have the time to learn all of the techniques to achieve our original goals.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of our final project, as we managed to create something functional and entertaining. Specifically, we are proud of the fact that we managed to create the "minigames" on top of the main room and making the graphics
What we learned
We learned a lot about Python and Pixel Studio. We can now say we are confident in both technologies, and can now work in even bigger things. We also learned to adapt to situations, and be flexible with our ideas and projects.
What's next for The Curious Case of the Missing Pie
We would like to continue building it and try to bring our original ideas to life.
