Inspiration
The challenge for Beenox was our main inspiration. Also, we got inspired by Caaaaaarl from the walking dead and walking dead's theme.
What it does
It allows you to enjoy a multiplayer experience with up to 4 controllers killing hordes of zombies.
How we built it
With Unity, Github, and 6 Gurus.
Challenges we ran into
Handling multiplayer meant we had to make most components modular. Also, binding the controllers for the first time while learning the new input system was a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that the game is very well rounded. It has music, sound effects, fonts, arts and a compelling multiplayer gameplay loop. We are also very proud to have accomplished it as a team of two, one of us having a broken wrist :P
What we learned
We learned how to function on no sleep and more about unity.
What's next for The Crawling Dead
A code refactoring and publishing. For the next versions, we would want to add a dynamic background and more dynamic environment. Also, we can increase the mobility and possible action of the players such as jumping, crawling, climbing ladders, moving things together, throwing animal flesh towards zombies and going into the sewers for shopping and hiding. The will increase the zombie variety. Also, there will be horses, tanks and cars along the way to help for fighting the boss zombies.
